Specialised Dosing Equipment
SHOCKWAVE provides a range of specialised dosing equipment that allows operators to consistently apply the STEMGEL™ suite of products easily, consistently and safely.
STEMGEL™ products can only be mixed and loaded using genuine, specialised SHOCKWAVE Gel Drive dosing equipment.
Following comprehensive training, competency in the use of each equipment item is mandatory as a part of the process of becoming an Authorised Licensed Distributor or Service provider of STEMGEL™ products. Each unit is also supplied with a detailed Operations Manual.
STEMGEL™ Hand Pump
The STEMGEL™ Hand Pump is a hand operated, pneumatic cylinder suitable for manually filling blast holes of various sizes, both above and below ground, with STEMGEL™ hydrogel stem.
The hand held unit simultaneously pumps STEMGEL™ LR-2 reagent and local water via a hose-in-hose system. The pump is calibrated to combine and output product at the correctly mixed ratio every time.
Holes can be dosed with STEMGEL™ easily and efficiently using this compact and lightweight unit.
- Suitable for stemming holes with a diameter between 24 and 159mm.
- Suitable for use in Open Cut, Underground and open air situations.
- Suitable for loading STEMGEL™ alongside re packaged explosives.
GEL DRIVE - Underground
The Underground GEL DRIVE is a powered, programmable skid mounted STEMGEL™ loading unit designed specifically for underground applications.
The Underground GEL DRIVE effectively stems both horizontal and vertical blast holes up to 25 metres and can be connected to a range of hose in hose delivery systems.
The unit is compatible with basket mounted hose pushers and is able to be programmed with an automated pumping schedule featuring Shut Off and Resume settings.
The unit also features PLC Programming for correctly creating a STEMGEL™ & water blend suitable for rapid-set insitu stemming of up-holes.
Each unit is manufactured to order, Gel Drives can be adapted to accommodate modifications that optimise it’s functionality for individual application needs.
GEL DRIVE - Open Cut
The Open Cut GEL DRIVE is a powered skid mounted STEMGEL™ loading unit suitable for large hole Open Cut and aboveground applications.
It provides fast and efficient stemming with the capability of pumping STEMGEL™ up to 50m for contour blasting as well as offering multipurpose modular options for large open cut, small quarry and pipeline stemming situations.
The unit accommodates multiple hose feed lines and offers multiple PLC programming options for varied STEMGEL™ & water blends.
As with the Underground unit, the Open Cut GEL DRIVE is able to be programmed with an automated pumping schedule featuring Shut Off and Resume settings.
Each unit is manufactured to order, Gel Drives can be adapted to accommodate modifications that optimise it’s functionality for individual application needs.
Stemsafe STEMGEL™ Dosing Truck
SHOCKWAVE’S specialised STEMGEL™ Dosing Trucks are designed specifically for safely and consistently dosing Open Cut blast holes with STEMGEL™.
This unit is suited to large open cut mining operations and features a spray bar and large water tank to provide for dust mitigation.
The unit features a retractable hose reel and can accommodate a down hole probe boom.
With PLC programming, the unit allows dosing to be calibrated perfectly for each hole.
Multipurpose Stemsafe Stemming Truck
SHOCKWAVE’S specialised Multipurpose Stemsafe Stemming Trucks are the ultimate piece of equipment and provide a complete solution to all Open Cut stemming requirements and more.
The one truck is equipped with a skid mounted Open Cut GEL DRIVE for down hole STEMGEL™ stemming but it also features a 12,000 Lt water tank with a Dust Control cannon and spray bar; an 8.5m3 aggregate stem belt feeder; and a Down Hole Probe Unit to provide post-drill (pre-load) down-hole data all off the same rig. This allows operators to drop the probe, review data, withdraw the probe and immediately load the hole.
POWERPILL™ Pilon
The POWERPILL™ Pilon is a manual ramming tool designed specifically for pushing pre-packaged POWERPILL™ hydrogel stem packs into a coupled position against the explosive inside the blast hole.
